Some Advise - PC upgrade

HI Chaps,

Just wondering what to do. @Gavin don't moan

Currently I have an I5-3470 Ivy Bridge, running on a ASRock Z77 Pro4. Now I have obtained an i7-4790 Haswell, which obviously doesn't fit on the ASRock board, as that is 1155 socket and I7 is 1150. It is a whole PC that I have, so would I really gain anything from taking out my memory, gfx card and putting it on the Intel Board Q87 Chipset with the i7?

Sure you should gain a little bit especially in single core performance and using newer technology usually helps a bit as well .

I5, thought I sent you an I3

Spotted problem. The Power connectors on the MB are not standard so I cannot put my 650W psu on that board. I will have to sit and wait, as will need a new MB which will cost around £70 and the performance I would gain, doesn't warrant me spending that...yet
