Save AC replays somewhere else + automatically

As a lot of people have smaller SDDs for the OS.
It's no fun to always have steam games saving stuff on that SSD on C:/
As you can't change the path in Assetto Corsa, you have to do it by hand.
There are lots of ways to do it. I do it like this:

1. How to save replays somewhere else (on another harddisk)?

You need a little programm from Microsoft called Junction.
Download here (77kb)

2. Create a folder on another HDD. Let's use:

3. Move everything (every replay) you want to keep from:
c:\Users\YourUsername\Documents\Assetto Corsa\replay\
into the newly created folder (E:/AC-Replays).

4. Delete the "replay" folder under
c:\Users\YourUsername\Documents\Assetto Corsa\

5. Extract the junction.exe to
c:\Users\YourUsername\Documents\Assetto Corsa\

6. Shift + right click the assetto corsa folder (c:\Users\YourUsername\Documents\) and press open the command line window.

7. In that window write (or paste ;-)):

junction replay "E:/AC-Replays"

Hit the return-key and
Agree to the Eula and then you should see in the command line window this:

C:\Users\YourUsername\Documents\Assetto Corsa>junction replay "E:/AC-Replays"

Junction v1.06 - Windows junction creator and reparse point viewer

Sysinternals -

Created: C:\Users\YourUsername\Documents\Assetto Corsa\replay
Targetted at: E:\AC-Replays

C:\Users\YourUsername\Documents\Assetto Corsa\

8. That's it. Now replays will be saved into E:\AC-Replays

Now your folders should look like this:

2. How to save replays automatically?

While I often forget to save the replay or to later change the cr file in the replay folder.
This little app called "AC Replay Grabber" will take care of it.
Download it in our AC App Dwonloads section

Install the program and run it in Windows before you run the AC Launcher!
You will see a little window. Leave it running in the background.
It detects when your acs.exe stops after a race (i.e. you leave the track and return to the lobby), and then automatically copies the latest cr file in your replay folder to a timestamped filename to capture your online replay.

Don't worry if it says "AC not running" after starting Assetto corsa:
ACRG-not-running.jpg (9.81 KiB) Viewed 7466 times

It just starts running when you race:
ACRG--running.jpg (15.3 KiB) Viewed 7466 times

Last but not least:
Just start it when you need it (like for qualifications, events or leagues).
So you don't save all replays always but of course you can if you want to.
Just don't forget to start it first ;)
