Raceday 2 of the mini-season in the OLFSL started on 13th of February 2005 on Fern Bay Black. 25 Laps with TBO was the deal.
This time Triple7Racing ordered two drivers to the starting grid:

(131) [T7R] three_jump
and
(911) [T7R] BBO

Both started in Pool 2 for this extrem and nerve-racking longrun
(25 Laps x 03:xx min. = almost 80 minutes round the track!!!)...

ImageQualification Pool2:

three_jump did 8 and BBO only 4 hotlaps to qualify, but they both knowed that the qualification was not so important this time. They finished it, guess where, right: three_jump jumps on place three and BBO on 7th out of 10 drivers. FAC Mice took the pole this time.

The Race of Pool 2:

At the start everyone was really carefull. So everything went pretty well. The field was close together and the fight began.
A race with everything in it:

...flying cars...

...real close driving...

Image

...a little ramming...

and many things more. Till the 10th lap it looks good but then the concentration got lost by some drivers. You saw tires flying and hear metal bursting from time to time. Some rumours said that a few drivers took their popcorn machine right near the engine to have something too eat for that longrun Wink

Results:

three_jump showed a long and good fight with the two TRK drivers. I think he felt like a sandwich. But he finally won it and finished on place number 3.

BBO had problems keeping his eyes open for some laps. A little bump here a litte drifting there but he finished on 6th.

Our congrats go to all who survived this marathon, especially to FAC MICE. He took the pole, the lead and won the race. Btw look at his winning time on the picture.

ImageVoices after the race:

Man this was the hardest thing i ever did....
...only 24 hours in Le Mans is harder...
I thought this race will never end...

Next week:
The next races will be held at Fern Bay Club REV track on 20th of February 2005. Two starts for 20 laps with the LX4 car.

Regards,
