Hello racers! This guy is one of the last big names in Live for Speed and racing with him is always fun. Originally from the demo days with MasterBlasters racing team, he used to set the pace, always at the top of the racing times or Leagues. Although unknown to T7R drivers, except Fordman, he soon proved a point with his first race in the T7R Internal Championship with a Pole and a Win. Also from the other side of the pond, please, Big Welcome, and Welcome back to Reed
Hello T7R| Reed thx for joining this little Interview. Ok, here is the first (and easiest) question: What is your real name and where are you living? Jason Reed - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - Beebe, Arkansas, USA Please present yourself to your audience! I'm a 21-year-old sim racer and very proud member of Triple 7 Racing. I like hanging out with friends (online or in person) and having a good time. I like watching good movies, challenging myself to learn new things, and struggling to keep up with the latest in computer technology and gaming (although keeping the latest equipment on my desk is not something I usually achieve). Your dream when you were young, is it still your dream, or is there a new one? Funny you should ask. My dream was always to be an architect and design skyscrapers. Eventually my senior year in high school led to tricking myself into thinking I'd make a good computer programmer. I went to school for a year in Computer Systems Technology and dropped out when I realized I hated it. I've been out of school now for two years, and I'm not working on my plans to move to Chicago next year to go to school for Architecture. Please tell us something about your hobbies, do you have any? (Apart from Live for Speed of course )My most recent and serious hobby is photography. Last year my brother finally paid me what he owed on the car I sold him, so I promptly took the cash and bought a digital SLR. Although I'm not very good yet, seeing my first 20" x 30" print come to life was pretty thrilling. I'd like to pursue photography as an on-going side project; hopefully it can eventually support itself with the ridiculous costs of lenses and equipment. Please complete the following sentence: "Since I play Live for Speed..." "... I am." Your favourite drink when you are racing. (Drink and drive???) Dr Pepper! Although it's been my favourite soda for such a long time... I should probably start seeking out a new favourite. What was your most memorable time in LFS? The most memorable time is always the last race. No special race? They're all special in their own right. There are so many (good and newer) games out there, but you are still playing LFS. Why? Live for Speed is a gem. I get excited about every chance I get to tell a new friend about the wonder that is LFS. I almost have a pre-packaged sales pitch about how a few amazingly talented and determined European game developers slave away night and day battling the elements to bring the sim racing community a much needed instalment of realistic racing. The truth is they listen to the community and give us what we want. Bravo! What made you choose T7R? I know Shaun (Fordman) from back in the S1 Demo days, and he's always been a good racer and all around great guy. After joining team MB, I moved into a house with some friends, and together we didn't make enough to pay the bills and have internet, so I had to leave LFS for some time. When I moved back with family and inherited an internet connection, I got back in touch with Shaun and was offered a spot on the team he described as no pressure, fun-loving, good times racing. How could I say no? ![]() What’s your favourite book, movie or music song? Why? I'll choose movie. My favourite movie is Memento, because it's a masterpiece -- plan and simple. It's built on a complex timeline that keeps you thinking throughout the film... and into the credits.... and through the film again and again and again, because you can't stop watching it. What's your motto? My motto for now is "keep on keepin' on." Please tell us the three things, you would take with you to a lonely island? Why? Aside from the vitals like nutrients and Live for Speed, I'd take a musical instrument and two friends. Is that allowed? (One friend being my girlfriend, of course) It’s your island ![]() Okay, scratch the second friend. I want a skyscraper also. ![]() The audience is yours, feel free to speak to your fans ![]() I think I'm the fan around here. So I think I'll finish up by saying I'm glad to be a part of this great community and especially a part of T7R -- all of whom are great people, easy to get along with, and to top it off, talented drivers. See you guys on the track! Thx Jason for taking the time to answer my questions, I hope you enjoyed it a bit. Of course! (0) Comments |
