Today I present you an interview with one of our "newbies". He's been around on the Tracks for some time now and was Part of famous but now closed teams. He's also admin in the ESL UK, this doesn't mean he's too slow to drive and therefor only watching!

Hello P1LOT & thx for joining this little Interview.

Ok, here is the first (and easiest) question: What is your real name, when were you born and where are you living?
Hi, I' Gavin Burton. I was born in Teeside (Area in the UK) and actually I'm still living there. I just passed 34 and am an easy going guy.

Please explain us why did you choose P1LOT as nickname!
I struggled to think of something to start with and then chose P1LOT to appear as a UK numberplate.

Well, we all know that LFS takes its time, but I'm sure that you still have other hobbies and a real life. Please tell us about it.
Real life: My girlfriend and I bought a house this year, and now have a lovely cat.I'm about to change my job after 10 years with the same company, which will be a shock to me, I'm sure. I'm also interested in military aviation and gadgets in general.

Please complete the following sentence: "Since I play Live for Speed..."
I found an interest in cars / motor sport, and of course have made some excellent friends!

You said you're going to change your job. What kind of job is this, what is the new one (if you already know) and is this one of the things you always wanted to do when you where a kid?
Nah, not a dream job, but I'm capable of doing it and in demand. I'm an Electrical Engineer, specifically I design transformers. I was headhunted by a much larger company with big expansion and prospects, so it caught my interest.
The job I wanted as a kid was to be a pilot (quite obvious really?), even got my licence a long time ago.

Looks like T7R can start its own airline soon....
Yeah we have a few (Basem, Charles) interested in that

Your favourite drink when you are racing.
I usually drink water or coke while racing as Alcohol degrades my talent seriously quick (if I ever needed the proof of the dangers of Drink & Drive). After race its ales and / or vodka.

What is the special thing that keeps you playing Live for Speed?
The blackmail from Fordman. ;)
But actually the thrill of racing, occasionally you get such a damn good race, it makes it all worth while to hunt another one out.

Please tell us something about your LFS History!
I was looking for a racing sim for a while (instead of my usual flightsims) and was utterly disappointed by Race Driver. One day I saw a download on GameSpot, I think for LFS at version 0.2D. I raced for about a week offline, then went online (and this was my first gaming experience online). Must have been good, cos I spent too many hours per week playing it after then...
Been in a few teams previously and enjoyed properly organised leagues. Now I'm an admin at ESL UK site, the organising is up to me now.

Your favourite superhero, why?
Someone like Spiderman, with not overtly super superpowers that make life too easy, plus it's like supporting the underdog.

If you had one wish for free, what would you wish?
Happiness for me and those close to me, what more could I want.

No World peace?

What was the last book you've read, what is the best book you've ever read, and what is your all time favourite music song and movie (why)?
Recently I have been reading a few non-fictions, including one about the history of Alfa Romeo (like my car).
Best book: Red Storm Rising, and early Tom Clancy one.
Favourite song is probably Heroes by David Bowie.
My girlfriend says I like dark movies, but there's plenty of worse stuff out there. Some favs are Bladerunner, Leon and of course Star Wars.
