Hello Racers!

After the hot July and freezing cold August, I decided that I preferred the hot temperatures more and therefore I had another quick trip to South Africa. And while I was enjoying the sun at the beach, I saw a Kite surfer with a T7R logo, so I stood up walk over to him and asked him some questions…

Please give him the applause he deserves and say hello to Exodus.

Hello Exodus thx for joining this little Interview

Here is your first task:
Please describe yourself with at least 5 sentences!

Ok, my name is Charles Ruaridh (it's Gaelic) McKowen. I am 22 years young. I was born in North Hampton in the UK but left for South Africa when I was 3.  Been in Johannesburg since but returning to the UK next year February/March. At the moment I'm studying a bachelors in computing at Monash University which finishes this year.

Your LFS World Name is "cmckowen" but on track you chose the nickname "Exodus". Please explain us why.
I picked up Exodus from lan'ing from back in the day. I am pretty rubbish at first person shooters but enjoy them none the less, but on occasions I use to run away. Hence Exodus came around, "the great departure".

Speaking of PCs....What are you doing when you're not in front of your PC, in other words: Do you have a real life?
Yeah, I'm a little busy with varsity at the moment, last semester but I am a vivid badminton player. Train with some Springboks but no time to further that at the moment. I also do kiting with a Para foil. Just love being torn down the coast in my skis. Other than that I've got a healthy bunch of party animal friends so there are plenty good late nights

There is another player with the similar name "mmckowen". Is he a fan boy of yours or what?
Oh yes...u must see the fans running for me, I'm plagued being asked for my digital signature. Nah he's my little bro coming up in the world of LFS.

Please complete the following sentence: "Since I play Live for Speed..."
…my mom complains I'm unsociable within the family. :D

Where did you hear about LFS and when? What was your first thought when you started the game / played it for the first time?
A friend who is in the UK, he was in SA, introduced me. Both him and I love racing games. One day I pitched at his place and he had just downloaded it and said I had to try this new game. Jumped behind the wheel and smashed BLGP T1's wall and was like "dude, this is crazy!!!" Thought it was a little hard to start with, especially with keyboard, but bought a wheel and been hooked ever since!

Your favourite Track & Car in Live for Speed? Why?
My favourite car is the XF GTR (XFR) as this one reminds me of my real car, a Golf 3 GTi. I know it has not that much power as the XFR but it's still FWD.
I love Westhill because it seems like such an easy track at first but I think it is the most technical of the tracks available and therefore the most rewarding to get right.

If you had the chance to add one thing to Live for Speed (no matter what it is), what would it be?
NOS!!!!!!111oneoneleven
Just kidding!
That would be the Nürburgring. I played it in Gran Turismo 4 (GT4) and it was good fun!

Your favourite superhero, why?
Superman, he can fly.
I got aspirations to fly but its a little too expensive when your a student so I'll get round to this at some later stage.

Please tell us the three things, you would take with you to a lonely island? Why?
1. My PC
2. Lance my friend from the UK, we can never get bored around each other          Sounds interesting ;)
3. A dune buggy. Then there is no chance of boredome

What was your dream when you were young? Is it still your dream, or is there a new one?
I wanted to be a robber so I could be rich, but then I found out that this wasn't a good idea. Then I wanted to be a pilot. I also did some lessons towards my Private Pilots License to get the taste but getting acceptance to a commercial airline is impossible in South Africa with who I am. So I went onto my next passion, computers. But yes I still want to fly, this is still my dream.

What's your motto?
Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.

What was your most memorable time in LFS?
I'll have to say it was getting accepted to Triple 7 Racing (T7R), it came out of absolutely nowhere and caught me by total surprise! It made me very happy to be asked to join such a tremendous team.

Any final words for your audience?
Thanks for reading...if you got this far.
Will see you all on track soon for some more good times!
AND
A big thank you to everyone in the team who makes such an effort in keeping things on track or spending their own personal time developing whatever it may be to better the teams appearance.

Then I can only say:Thanks a lot Charles for taking the time and I hope you enjoyed it a bit.
Yeah was cool, not a problem. Thanks for interviewing me Jan.
