Are there no pitting rules in the ESL (except the pit open /pit closed thing)?
(i.e. crossing the white or yellow pitlines?)

Nice read and ss there Dan Smiley
I would like to do well in this league and I do enjoy it , but my enthusiasum and spare time to practice has decreased as the league has progressed.  I raced this last race with a set from Simon gained about 15 mins before the race , a few laps practice and wham straight into it  smiley
seems the FXO is a little slower than before the patch  Cheesy

Bernd the rules do not specify anything about the lines , but we made a gentlemans agreement not to cross the exit line (trackside) before the race and Shaun made it very clear we could do a last minuite dive into pits  afro , the rules state you can sit the driver any side of the car also .

Dave,

You are not the first person I have heard to say this, I hope certain things will be solved before the new EPS season starts.

Other than a few bad apples, I think we all get along and have a great nights racing every 2 weeks, but yeah, you are right, practice time can be hard to come by, I worked VERY hard last weekend on trying to develop a setup and learn the track, and my sprint race was ruined in the first turn, very frustrating.

And yes, the FXO is maybe a little slower, although with some setup tweaks I managed to get my time back to pre-patch times.

Ok good to know. I just wondered about the pitting manoeuvers of some guys Smiley
Good that we have clear pit rules for our internal championship.

As this is a serious league, its also a practice event for getting ready for EPS as with EPS things cannot go wrong.  Its a majorly sponsored event, with some big names in there ( Abit and E-Frag Servers ) being just 2 I can name at the moment  cool

Rules will change, as well as pitting procedures and other things.  Hence why I cannot join your league Dan, as I will be spending all my time devising the league, and promoting it.

With all the database problems we have had, its hard to promote a Professional run league and convince people to part with their money when the results cannot be upto date, but I will plug away.

Driver side will be set at the beginning of the season, as well as Car choice ( looking at a multi field choice again, not open wheel )

Will be looking to start in about July / August time.  It will run for 6 months.  Then after the six Months, the top 10 drivers Qualify for the Finals.  Now this maybe at a destination somewhere in the UK ( to be confirmed as yet ) or might be shown live over the net.

The Finals consist of 3 races.  Who ever scores the most points of these 3 races is crowned UK EPS Champion.  So in fact, there is to leagues.  One is to qualify in the top 10, then go on and win it.

Now as we don't run a EAS season, we don't have a qualification period, and the ability for people to drop down or get promoted up, so what I am going to do, is the top 10 from this season, Automatically Qualifiy for the EPS Season.  Still have to pay for it ( who ever wins it, gets a free season  cool ) but from 11 downwards, these will have to be qualified for.

Thats just some of the details I can release atm.

Tbh  first "repair (or better make them repair it)"  the running league before making a new one.

It's an embarrassing situation that a so called serious league is not able to fix a database problem for month.

What if there is again a DB problem in the next season?

Where are the admins, the drivers, what did they do, call, mail, phone (whatever) the people who are responsible for fixing the database every day etc.

I'm happy that I got the actual replays and standings in another way instead of waiting to see them on the ESL site.

A quite disenchanted Fan of the ESL

We are finishing this season first Bernd.  EPS is later in the year.  Well our problem was a little problem compared to what happened.  basically 12 SCSI drives decided one day, thats it, they had had enough and all said bugger off to the operating system.

So they decided to repair from the backup, and then something else went wrong.  it was one of those situations where you fix 1 problem, and another crops up.

Its all fixed and repaired now, and the reason its taken so long, is the traffic you have to go through to find the right person.  Now we know the right people, I have a One way street.

This won't happen in EPS, because, I have NOW got the proper guidelines of how things actually work.  Problem was I was trying to enter the results manually by adding in the points.  But no, Database doesn't like that.  Here's why

Quote
You should be able to enter all the results of the races without any problems. but you just have to enter the _finishtimes_... not the poinst. just the times. The points are calculated automatically
if you just enter the points the script thinks "hey... there are no times... the points i have in my database aren't the points for the - non existing - times... i have to delete them

See if I knew that 1 month ago, it would of been fixed, but it was just trying to find the right person for the answer  Smiley
