As I had a bit of time (and some money to spend) I thought about what else I can do to my HTPC.
Upgraded to 8000 GB 4x2TB HDDs now (so 8 TB of data).

Next thing that came to my mind was Ambilight from philips like this you know
http://www.newscenter.philips.com/pwc_nc/main/shared/assets/at/Downloadablefile/at-ge_news06_ce_ambilight_full_surround_42pf9831_2l-15744.jpg

But I don't wanted to spend ~1500 Euros / 1300 pounds
so I only spend around 170 Euros /~150 pounds

Was thinking about something like that for a long time.
And so I ordered a lot of stuff as there are also plugins and software things available for that to include it into my beloved MediaPortal software http://www.team-mediaportal.com/

So here we go.
What I needed was 2x70cm full RGB LED stripes and 2x45cm full RGB LED stripes, a 4 port controller, 12 volt power adapter, usb cable, atmowin software, atmolight plugin, FTDI VCP drivers to allow the standard serial controller work via USB port and a bit of time.

Just watch the pictures and the videos wich shows the whole thing in action

(less then 1 MB) http://www.triple7racing.net/t7r_media/atmolight bbo 1.mpg
(less then 1 MB) http://www.triple7racing.net/t7r_media/atmolight bbo 2.mpg
(small .mp4 vids is all my crappy mobile can do Wink).

And now I will go and watch a movie with my new special ambient lights on  lol
