To begin with it, I have nothing against a kind of simple system, allowing only people who have proven to be "good" drivers and let them proove that they can handle a certain car up to a level where they actually can bring it round the track and enjoy it.

But:
It seems that in these days every server owner thinks that this is really a great idea and introduces the same system on his own server. Well, it can't be so bad you might think now, this should provide clean and decent racing you think. Lets face it, it doesn't. All it does is seperating a small bunch of races, those who actually want to race instead of cruise or drift into those with time and no time. To make it even worse those score based servers dies faster than fruit flys resulting in 2 new ranking servers. Of course you start again with zero points on both servers and with the time you actually had some of it yourself you find yourself usually up with some people driving the highest class on their own, some in the middle class and the rest in the lowest possible class, usually all on the same server.

Some might enjoy this, I don't. But unfortunatly those point based servers are the only ones these days with more than 10 players while not being a demo server. This is just crap. If I actually have enough time on my hands I would really like to drive the cars I want to and not the ones according to my "score". I have done 200.000 km in lfs in over 6 years, I think I can judge which cars I can drive by now and which don't.

If it was some scoring system that was used on all those servers ok, that would at least make sense, but every server owner seems to belive that his system is the best and hell forbid not even be synchronized with anyone else, why would they...

It's annoying being forced to drive the same cars over and over again, but as said they are sadly the only ones with actually people on.

It would make sense for the server owners using these systems would work with a common ranking of players, but I'm not holding my breath.

We can't complain that these servers exist, but we suffer if no-one races on other servers.

Again, I've 'missed the boat' as I wasn't racing on Ironhorse server from the beginning. Now I'll be at the back with the noobs. Except I've only managed to get on once; first race I was wrecked and rolled by someone with an undrivable car, second race had another blasted powercut (0.25 sec) when doing well!
I think I'm going to have to spend my lovely Christmas money/vouchers on a UPS Sad

It is such a shame they can't all use the same database of players for all of these points based servers.

All this multiclass is unfortunatly a little overdone @ IHR IMO, I didn't see the UF1's when I started I drove the acceptable XFG.

I would preferre the old CTRA way with one server being only XFG/XRG, and the "next server up" maybe TBO.

It seems to me that alot of players gained TBO and higher rank very quickly and now just drive each other and  everyone within 50m off the track Smiley

Maybe we need to think about running a few "one off" events and poach/invite some of the good old time drivers to show what a good bunch of drivers that "know each other" can do Smiley

I hope you can find somewhere to race Jan, I'll gladly shift to another server to race ya, Smiley

LR server is probably the nicest place I've raced in the last week or 2, the Level System servers could be the next IHR type server to "go big" have to wait and see Smiley
