Hey all,

Scawen gave a very nice post Smiley

http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=61623

The license will be moving to S3 for the release and there will be another new car unveiled....apart from the Scirocco as this will be available for S1 drivers too.   Rumour has it that it might be the never released LX8  Cheesy

This should be a great release....think I'm going to pay for S3 now just to avoid any possible delay in the thousands of people trying to do it last minute when the patch is released Smiley

You great news indeed. I payed for s3 4 years ago putting extra credit on my account so i'm ready tongue

But really i though we should get beta and s2 final first....or maybe we will  but that means s3 and rockingham is still years away. But since they showed  us the screens that must mean the track will be in next release  so in conclusion s3 alpha. I should be happy but i don't know why i'm not.

Either we'll have to wait a few more couple of years till we get the track & the car(s) or what I hope is more likely that the stages will be only content wise (tracks and cars) from this point on. From my point the devs have to do every update to the physics to all lfs license versions (incl. demo) in order to keep the mixed licensed servers. So it would be more likely that the only differences between the versions is the amount of content and additionla options (weather, day and night hopefully). So by this there would be no reason to delay more content as that would mean an instant plus of incomming money.

Having that said I do hope the devs also realise that once there is a showbooth version out (and that looks quite done if I may add) there will soon be requests to make it public, increasing the pressure to do so anyway. So I'd say we get the scirocco with the next patch and the track hopefully for xmas.

Looks like you are right:

2) Licenses and versions

Some people made various comments on this. It's right what some people said - we are moving gradually away from the software versions being named S1, S2, S3 and so on. The S numbers are license names and really refer to the content you can access (cars, tracks, certain functions). It makes a bit less sense now to call the version of LFS "S1" or "S2" . The software is continually developing. Anyway this frees us from having to "finish" S2 before releasing S3 content. It's not clear what "finishing S2" means any more. The LFS software and content can just keep improving and we can gradually do the features and improvements that we want to over time.

One thing we discussed was the possibility of just calling the software "Live for Speed 0.6A" and forget about the Alpha / Beta tag. It's very stable software so doesn't really need those tags. There are several things that can be improved and added but that is beside the point. I hope that explains a bit more what we are thinking. The version number being less than 1.0 does express that it still has a way to go.
