Forgot about the no shift-p in quali.  Just had spin and pitted forgetting the rule, DOH!

Managed to pick my way through the first laps of chaos but just made mistake after mistake during the race and was lucky to finish.  No FFB for turning left, outside of the tire heating up and dents all over the place, but can't grumble with last to 4th.

Still have had a great season, mistakes and lack of practice time cost me the podium chance (beating BBO with a stick might have been another option) and helping out Dadge but it's been an amazing league.  Really well run with consistant and fairjudgement through out.

Happy to see ATC finish so well in the championship as well  mrgreen we've run in leagues before but within a circle of friends, nice to see we can cut it.

Everything just went bad tonight, I was too tired to race correctly(even if I drank something like 4 or 5 Cokes during the afternoon), my cats decided to meow all the race long in front of the door, then I was involved in at least 2 or 3 pile-ups, but I incredibly survived and managed to do one of my best results the TDC! wav

Thanks to BBO for admining, congrats to Jouman, for his title, that was a really enjoyable season, we had some really nice races. We should have a season 2 some days. icon_thumleft

What to say. Really enjoied the series. Had great battles every round and for me thats all about there is to racing. Don't even care so much for the position i end up just to have a great battle for that position  Wink.

So what about this race. The final for the season and a really close finish we had only 1 point difference with Dadge. So the pressure was on for sure for this race. Like in the race before i was aiming to keep Dadge behind me and nothing else mattered. But like before he was really fast so this would also mean i'd have to be in a race winning pace.

Got my setups together just on hour before the race, had figured them out earlier in the week. Just didn't have time to try them out more before today. So just before the race got my pace up there with Dadge's.

Quali:
Went in with a risk chose the R2's for the quali. Slight changes to the set still to make it more aggressive. 3 lap stints was my plan so one out lap and in lap and only one time lap. Got a really good one in for my first try pb right off the start. Was more relaxed after this so started just iddling by and went to the pits to get more fuel. My going slow in the in lap resulted in me having maybe too much fuel. Second try for the time lap failed too much heat in the tires, so started to wait for them to cool off on that lap. I had still fuel for 3 more laps so decided to wait for them to cool off. When i started my third try noticed that Dadge had just gotten slightly under my time. So again really attacking, but the splits werent so promising slight mistakes here and there. So no improvements on that lap. Then did one lap just cooling the tires and waiting the time to run out, there was still about 4min left so after the cooling lap waited near the last corners for the clock to go down to only 1min so that i would get the tire temps cool enough. The trick worked and managed to make a great last lap resulting in my pb and the pole came with it.

Race:
For the first 5 laps really close with dadge we were under 1sec from each other. Was pushing really to the max these 5 laps and it bugged me that every lap dadge was just 0.05s faster mrgreen. So on lap 5 he got close enough to try and pass in T1 and he managed to do just that i run slighly wide and he did a nice move there. Had to let up for T2 that we both didn't end up in the tire wall. Knew that we had totally different setups, so was calming myself that his tires are working better atm and that mine would start to work better on the last laps compared to his (maybe  icon_silent). Tight lapping continued Dadge pulled a slight cap more then 1sec. We got some traffic on lap i think around 11. There was Franky500 i think after a spin, dadge passed him first in the fast part after sector 1. Wasn't sure did he have some sort of slide there but after i got past Franky i was right up Dadge's tail. So using this to my advantage i managed to get into slipstream in the mainstraight and trying to pass there. I think here was my closest for ruining my race as i took the outside line i went just slightly to the grass for the braking. So really close that i didn't end up in the sand trap in T1. Right after this in T2 Dadge hit the tire wall and he lost control but managed to struggle the car back in the right direction and i used this change to zoom past. After this i got my tires in a better shape and managed to cool down my head. So started hotlapping with max. attack and continued that to the end to keep my rythm the same. On the last lap in the last corners was pushing slightly too hard and ended up in the grass, but nothing major Wink.

So a great season with great drivers  notworthy. Had some really memorable races in this series eventhough it lasted only for 6 race's. Thanks for the race's.

Really crappy race for me.

Quali: First, like I forgot to drive. Second, I get stuck in gravel trap. Third, I get out of the gravel trap, and manage 12th.

Race: Start poorly, loose places, smash into pileup, continue. Try with all you have to repel one of PM guys from taking your position, slam into a stalled car, pull a Hamliton and get stuck in a gravel trap.

LMAO.

Now exuse me, I go shoot myself.

Had a short online practice midweek. The missus messed up the timing of Sunday dinner so I had to wolf it down to join in time. Then I couldn't get my wheel to work (forgotton to put the power on in my haste), so the qualifying was my warm up.

Slower improved over the qualification period. I was surprised some others were not faster so managed 4th. Others must have had tyre problems or rolled it.
I knew the dangers off this car and track, and realised that was a high probability of not finishing.

Lost a place at race start as I always do, then got up to speed. The front two zoomed off and I was pressuring Franky with BBO breathing down my neck. Franky ran wide onto the grass before the back straight and I had a clear track in front of me to start pulling away from BBO. Lots of consistent laps followed and I was getting faster. Until I nearly rolled it at the right hander (4th last corner) on lap 16. This allowed BBO to catch up and I then copied others with the easy mistake of running wide on the grass before the back straight. The collision with the wall didn't damage the front too bad but spun me round and I ended up with a broken rear damper.

Slowly going back to the pits I still lost control of the car a few times. But my pitstop was too quick... I'd forgotton to switch 'repair' back on! Doh!
Had to do another lap to finally get repaired and must have lost 6 or 7 places with all this Sad
The next few laps were taken carefully since the front tyres were cold and rears hot. Then back up to speed and I got quicker again.
Retook a few more places to finish 7th, but I'd thrown away a podium!

Congrats to Jouman for the title.
Thanks to BBO for all the hard work organising and admin.

Do you remember?
I wrote in the pre race discussion thread
"I really think it's the hardest combo in the whole Triple Double Cup."
I think I was right.

My bet was that 30% of the drivers won't finish the race.
Only 59% saw the checkered flag so it was worse than that.

I practised a lot in the last week and got again lots of setups from Dadge and Jouman and tipps about using R4 with low pressure on the front and many more tipps. I was happy when I first did a 1:23.high and I managed to do 18:1x to 18:2x 1st splits and 52.high at the 2nd split. But Saturday it looked like I forgot everything, I was not able to drive fast 1st or 2nd split times.

So I thought forget about the qualy hotlaps and test some more endu races. And I did to find out what's the best tire solution for me. In the end I decided to use R4 on the front with ~150 pressure and R2 on the back. As I was able to do completly consistent lap times with it over 40 laps.

Quali:

My goal was to drive 3 stints: 1 Outlap, 1 hotlap, 1 inlap. I was a bit nervous as I saw almost everyone was doing 1:23.xx times in the test qualy sessions. So my plan was to get at least in the top 10, not to far away from ATC gAg as he had to finsh in the race 9  places in front of me to get on the overall podium.

I was completly surprised and thought I was wrong to see gAg pitting especially after I had written right in front of the qualy "no shift+p ...". So after my first security laptime I had to stop during the 2nd stint to tell him he has to stop driving. But I was a bit relaxed now as my biggest rival had to start from the back of the grid as his laptime had to be erased as it was done after the pitting.

In my last stint I tried to risk a bit more and it worked, with very bad split times a 1:24.33. Only 7th so I started another lap and after some nice splits I was up for a 1:23.xx but in the corner where the 2nd split is I touched the green and that's it. No more time for another run but 7th. To see some more people had massive problems with their laptimes helped to stay till the end on P7.

Race:
For the first time in the TDC I had to rearrange the grid but no big deal. 1 click on his name then he joins again at the back. But right before the LAG lap someone thought it was funny to click also on my name and so I was spectating when the lag lap started. But the lag start is to see if everyone is on the right position and that's why I stopped it to arrange the grid again. I double checked all the names again and then Dadge was always a bit quicker to tell who is next. Then I thought ok go on, less work for me. laughing7  I only checked if all was correct. Wink

Finally we could start the race with everone on the right place.
After the first turn I was almost next to DSR Smack to pass him but I drifted on cold tires into the chicane and if, I think it was P1LOT, had not rammed the tires away I might have been crashed there but the way was free and I could hold the car on the track in front of Smack.

Then PM Ant rolled his car and me and Smack passed his spining car only with a few centimeters space left. Scary  icon_silent.  Unfortunatly PM HAsse crashed then into his team mate and Greybull into him then PM Luke into Greybull and into PM HAsse. Then some more of the field thought "Yellow, slow down, no not really" or like Gloria Gaynor sings "I will survive "  lol and the crashing continued. What a large pile-up.

During that I was chasing P1LOT and Franky till he did in lap 2 almost at the same place what Ant did in the 1st lap. Then I had P1LOT in front of me only a bit over 1 second away. I tried to push a bit more and was coming closer but then I told myself: "stop it - stick to your plan"  And the plan was to not risk to much and to not roll the car as this would be the only real chance for ATC gAg to pass me in points.

So I did what I practised the other days. And I did a lot of even laps, one of the most consistent races for me: 1:24.53, 1:24.51, 1:24.51, 1:24.22, 1:24.37, 1:24.22, and so on. I was really pleased with my own performance  mrgreen hehe. Not to fast, not to slow but always safe.

~20 minutes later in lap 17 P1LOT crashed right in front of me at the same spot as Franky did 15 laps before. Dadge had pitted and so I was in the 2nd place. Then I had a crashing Franky in front of me again at the end of lap 17. In lap 20 same place same driver at the 2nd last turn Franky on the green.

The crash
In lap 22 I noticed that I still have 2% refuel in the F12 menu and tried to change it while driving on the S/F straight, but when I looked up I mixed up the 150 and 100 meter signs and breaked way to late at ~60 meters in front of T1 and crashed straight into the wall after the sand pit. But thank god my car didn't took big damage. I lost 15 seconds in that lap and was back in the third place when I drove on.

In lap 23 I had again a crashing Franky in front of me (but he somehow managed to always land on the tires everytime) 3 laps later I had Dadge in front after he spun and then chatted "F8 key monkey" I really had to laugh. I than had the feeling he was holding me up a bit in that lap and to not risk a fight later I decided to drive into the pits in lap 26, 3 laps earlier than planned.

The pits
But after the crash in lap 22 I had forgot to check the F12 menu again and I had "repair damage" on yes and refueling was also on and so I had the feeling I stood there for ages (over 14 seconds). And I thought ok that's it with the 3rd place in this race. I saw P1LOT passing by but I was still on the 3rd. There must have happend something to him I didn't noticed.

The finish
Then I watched for the first time in this race the time gaps and saw that ATC gAg is still over 15 seconds behind. 1 lap later over 20 seconds and only 3 more laps to go. Then I had some blue flagged guys in front (they all gave room perfectly, thx a lot) and passed them and  finally finished on P3 for the overall P3.

First I'd like to thank T7R for letting me race in this event.

My race didn't go too well though. With the heavy fuel load, my car was sliding a lot, which cooked the rear R2's very quickly. Car was almost uncontrollable, had to pit to change tires. Decided that maybe R3's on the rear would be good. But was I wrong, R3's on rear was a very bad decision. Tires got so cold that I couldn't be quick anymore. Best I could do was 1.25x to 1.26x. I tried to keep up with Gag, but it was not possible. I gave up the chase and decided to settle for 5th. Which was again a bad decision, seeing as Gag got a 10 sec penalty for chatting. Only good thing that came out of this race was that I managed to finish it  icon_thumleft

In any way it was a great and close season  icon_thumleft
I especially liked that we could always read after the races these nice reports
from a lot of the drivers here.

It's was really interesting to read how others saw the race or their own race
and what happend to them.

Great stuff  notworthy
