Here are our TDC Rules again:
-   Obey the yellow pit entry and exit lines. Do not cross them!
TDC Penalties:
- Crossing the yellow line on pit entry or pit exit: +15 seconds

OK, no problem with the rules, but sometimes it is very difficult to see the lines. So it would be better if you put one or two cones in the beggining of the pit entry line and one cone in the end of the pit exit. Anyway, that's just my opinion.

I don't really want random cones on the track, they will get hit with people racing and get in the way.

It's not difficult to see the entry and exit lines, espcially if you practice or make a note of them when practicing, I think people just forgot....which was good for me.

Thx for the suggestion.
We really thought about placing cones there when we planned the Cup
but

...cones on the track, they will get hit with people racing and get in the way.
That was exactly the concerns we had and have.

As the pit entry (especially in Aston) can be part of a racing line (i.e. when passing)  then it can happen that people drive over it, then they fly around  etc.
So that's why we decided to not use them.

I think if you really practise the pitting a few times then it shouldn't be a big problem.
The rest is in the drivers hands or like dadge said some posts above "paying attention"

And the bigger the challenge the more you will be/ can be happy when you mastered it  Wink

EDIT:
There will be some small "pit line rules" changes for the next Round.
Check the
Round 2 - Pre Race discussion thread
and
TDC - Rules - Server - Password thread

My 1st round went very well despite the fact I had little time to practise and have been somewhat inactive in LFS for a few months, I was a little dissapointed with my Qualy time, knowing I could push it down by a 10th of a sec or 2 Smiley
But I was pleased to be in the front half of the grid, and got off to a reasonable start, lost a couple of places in the 1st lap and was really close to Gavin (P1LOT) when he fell of the internet early in the race.

I had the stratergy to pit early with little or no damage, and it could have worked, except that I missed the pit box and had to reverse lol, causing Max to overtake me in pit lane, I wanted to be ahead of Max, as I kinda knew he was a little to fast for me at this combo.
It was quiet from then on with mainly clear track ahead, and only after many laps when all had pitted did I realise I was at the back of the lead group, I was lucky to overtake Bernd (BBO) on the last couple of laps because of a pit mistake from him Smiley

I like the pit line rules Smiley but its always been this way for most of the leagues/races Ive been involved with Smiley

Looking forward to the next race.
