Hi,

what a sad day for me after more then 9 years and shortly after improving a CTRA lap record for 2 times
the gas pedal and the spring of my MS FF just broke 10 min. ago.

Picture:

Anyone got any ideas or is it possible to use DFP pedals with the MS FF wheel?
Because I still got an unused DFP on the attic.

Hey Bernd,
sorry to hear that man. But 9 years, wow thats a good life span  icon_thumleft

I dont have much information to help you out, but really as long as the plugs match for the DFP to the Sidewinder I see no problem with using those pedals.

Or if you really want, send me your DFP and ill send you my 6year old Wheel and pedals  laughing7

I doubt the connectors will be compatible.
You might try plugging the DFP in as well, and calibrate the pedals for LFS use. Then it's just a case of not having the wheel in the way

Thx that would be great  Dave.

btw I went upstairs and checked the DFP Box Wink
Gavin was right the connectors are incompatible (I thought they are).
DFP = D-Sub Connector
MS = RJ-xx Connector

Then I had an idea (oh no)
I compared the potentiometers and they are identical in size etc.
MS FF poties made half of plastic but they are in a really good condition
DFP's  are made of steel

Now I swapped both DFP poties with the MS FF and it worked,
but because of the size of the male and female RJ-xx Connectors the backside of the DFP pedal-box can't be closed anymore.
I tried many diff. positions and in the end I accidently ripped off a few of the little cables while closing the cover. Damn.

And no electric soldering iron in the house because the last time I performed handicraft work was when I created a read/write protect switch with red and green light-emitting diodes on my Amiga 500+  iirc lol

Oh well me and my late night ideas  laughing7

Thx Dave I just need the plastic gas Pedal and the spring (maybe I have to search on ebay a bit).

In the meantime I modded my DFP pedals and it works ;-)

1. Switched the DFP poties with the MS FF poties.
2. Soldered some extension cables between the poties and the female connector (long enough to put it to the outside)
3. Now I got the DFP pedals working on the MS FF (but it feels strange  laughing7 )

Here are some pics (hmm the attachment function is still not working)

Looks a bit strange but it's just a temporary solution Wink
