First, amazing race  mrgreen

Finally got the time to practice properly so I got my shit phase that was causing me problems for the last few rounds out the way.

Dadge had a plan of starting quali on R3's, doing 7 laps and pitting for R2's and seeing what they did so I went with that.  Except I put in a 1:48.45 on R3’s then only bettered it by a tiny amount on R2's but it was good enough for pole, which was nice.

Tried not to take Dadge out at T1 only to nearly take him out, just clipped him, which allowed jouman through and the other to get too close.  Had a really good fight with three jump but we were slowing each others so when he was in front I thought I'll back off a smidge and have a good run at him, pass him amazingly to break his will, then pull away and catch the leaders.

Problem was a clipped the grass on the entry to the flat out right and had a massive slide, had to light up the fronts to stop from spinning, try and hold off BBO all in the space of a few turns.  I decided to pit with the hope of giving the tyres a chance too cool, but they didn't and it took 2 or 3 laps for them to cool down enough to get going again.

After that I put in some good consistent laps hoping I'd pull enough back.  Managed to get BBO after his stop and then get just enough to stop him using my slip stream but couldn't shake him.  Had a bit of a slow lap and he was right with me again but I managed to recover to restore the 5 - 8 tenths gap, the fast pace eventually told and luckily for me it was BBO whole folded first  mrgreen running wide and onto the grass just before the second split.

Then I just kept going with the hope of a mistake from the front guys but it never came.  Had an amazing race, really close and clean, great fun.

Quali - Considering I had approx 2 hours practice I was please with Qualifying 9th.

Race - Got a good start but got tagged by 007 - A.Collett in the first corner even though I was over 3/4 of a car in front (race incident i suppose). This put me in a spin and on the grass. Joined back in Last place about 1-2 seconds behind. Started getting my places back and due to pit stops climbed to 5th expecting to drop back a bit after mine. Then  twisted on lap 12 my screen went blank (Vista tried to kick in the screen saver) I apologise if i caused any incident but I could not see a thing, i heard me hit a wall and i finally got my screen back. I made my pit stop there and then and rejoined near the back again. Again clawed back some places and finished better than expected after the first incident and was hoping my tyres would last thy were a little thin at the end. Thanks to all those I had battles with whilst claiming back some positions for some good, fair clean racing.

Extremely disappointed.  Ky2 is my favorite track and i was heading towards my best finish yet, then i rolled it on lap 19.  Was hoping for some points since i did finish 3 quarters of the race but i got a DNF.  Only 1 more race to put up with me.

I understand that it is disapointing and I also thought about a giving out some points
as it was really really unlucky for you when you rolled it in lap 20 (not 19 Wink) but I can't.
In the end a DNF is a DNF and it would be unfair to give points to someone who did not reached the finish line.

When I thought about it I thought about an example:
What if Jouman rolls his car in the last race in lap 23 and Dadge in lap 25.
then Dadge would get points (for finishing 3 quarters of the race) and Jouman not and he would win the TDC with that.
That sounds not right or fair to me and so I stay with the:
"If you don't finish the race = you get zero points".

I didn’t find time to practice this much before, a few laps offline only. I was not aiming for a top finish, just hoping for some good racing.

We were all closely bunched up on the first few laps. On lap 4 Mikael Larson got slowed down leaving the oval when trying a pass on the guy in front. This allowed me to nip in at the double slow right hander. Unfortunately I ran a little wider than I intended, and when I looked to my left to see where Mikael Larson was I saw he was on the grass. I thought ‘oh no, I caused that’ and let him have the place again which meant Hasse got through. Turns out from looking at the replay that I didn’t cause him to go wide, so he must have been confused to see me giving places up.

Mikael Larson must have had some tyre trouble then, as I got past and caught Hasse and BBO up. That was a good battle between the three of us with much overtaking. BBO dived in the pits at one point when he was behind us and Hasse and myself carried on the close racing for quite a while. Hasse pitted about lap 17 and I stayed out with the hope of some clean, fast laps to confirm the position. I did well including several pbs and was planning on pitting as I started lap 21.

Calamity! My screens went blank as I approached turn 6 (180º left). I think my screen saver had kicked in because I hadn’t pressed a button for a while. Woke the screens up to find me still running and in the gravel, resumed several places down. The steering felt very wrong now and it was a case of bringing it home. Turns out I slammed head-on into a wall at full speed.

Finished 8th, might have lost 3 places because of my black out. Sad

qually, i went with a strategy for qually. something that i never usually do but i was looking forward to this event so much that i had one done in no time. it turned out to be spot on too. i put in 17% fuel (10 laps) and i was going to put in 1 outlap and 6 hotlaps then at the end of lap 7 i was pitting in and slipping into r2 fronts. this made the 1:48.4x mark easier to get. the r3 laps were good and i was just getting into my groove so i decided to change tires on lap 5/6.
on my last lap i put in a 1:48.46 to take 2nd place.

i pitted, changed tires and fuel and rejoined the track.
the green light came and away we went. ATC Gag was on the outside for the start so this gave me a chance to take the lead. i managed to get his slipstream on the exit of the T1 Banking and i hit the brakes as usual for the T2 chicane onto the infield. gag thought i had cleard his car and began to turn in only to find my car on his line. we had a slight contact and i went into T2 on a 45° approach. dabbing the brakes and throttle i was able to get the car under control but it wouldn't down shift as i was using my throttle. whilst trying to change down to 2nd i noticed jouman had passed.
so i gathered it up and got the car turned into the double apex of T4 and 5. a few corners later i had caught jouman up and it was down to trying to get past him. this was easier said than done. for 21 laps jouman managed to put his car on the best line of every corner when i was attacking him. on lap 8 i decided that i have to pass him in the pits and i dived in for a splash n dash. i found myself behind ocr allan who held me up just enough to keep jouman infront of me. jouman had gained about a second on me too Sad.
once i got past allan i caught jouman again abd we carried from where we had left off. i got past jouman on lap 21 but it was because i was able to make 3 passing attempts in a row to keep him off his defensive lines. once i got infront of him on the infield i was able to pull away from him. this left 3j. i caught him by lap 24 and made a few attempts but i think i showed my hand a lap too soon. i got him with a killer pass onto the start finish and the would of been that. only that was on lap 24 and 3j covered that line on the last lap.
all in all, it was a sweet race and a joy to be part of. fern bay should be good too.

@ 3j, watch the last lap from my car and tell me if you think i was trying 100% tongue

So on with the XFR's and to the final race's of the season. Nice combo, this is one tricky car to handle. Lot's of power to the front wheels -> going to be a problem. Started practicing early for this combo as i didn't have lots of laps with this car. Was clear early on that the ATC guys were going to be really fast on this track.

Managed to do a pb and that got me to the 4th position. Had a really good start and got past 3j before T1. Dadge had some problems going in to the T1 just saw he's car being almost sideways and Gag was stuck behind him. Got a good line past both of them in T2 and was 1st in T3 and T4. Must have been my best start ever, really lucky to get to the first place allready in there. My main goal for the race was that trying to minimize the damage to not give Dadge too many points over me. Had seen in the practice that Dadge had a really great pace so knew that i really had to push it hard to try and keep the same speed. So did all i could and managed to keep him behind me for 21 laps Cheesy. Wasn't racing so much for the win as i was racing Dadge Smiley. This was my main reason for also the early pitstop as wanted to make sure that he wouldn't get a clear track, so he couldn't start hotlapping. Well overall looking at the score 3rd after starting 4th, i should be happy about the result as i thought before the race that it will be tight to even be in the top 5. But would have been great to keep Dadge behind for 4 laps more  mrgreen All in all great clean racing through the whole race.

Can't wait for the final showdown on fern bay in next sunday. Bad curbs on that one for this car...

I had not much time to practice the last weeks and luckily I spotted Dadge some day on the server and he was really nice to me and showed me some better lines and after he gave me his setup I was also able to do some 1:48.xx times again. That was really great thank you again Dadgeicon_thumleft

Quali:
I think my pb was 1:48.79 and after some problems at the start of the qualy, I first thought 3j passed me Massa like in the pits (but it was ok) to then almost stay on the track at the 2nd last turn. I braked hard and Greybull too but he hits my back. After the next turn I thought: ok this lap is already over even before it started, let Greybull by. But he was a bit surprised when I braked and I he hits me again  Wink but nothing bad happend to the cars (I think).

I had only 8% fuel inside and tried another lap but somehow had Jouman next to me in the first long bend.  icon_silent
Then someone stopped, I think it was P1LOT and tried to let me pass in turn 5. Only a 1:49.xx in that lap so I pitted changed tires and tried a second run. This time I watched the track a bit more and started without any traffic and did instantly a 1:48.80. Only 0:00,01 slower then my pb and on P6. It was OK for me as my plan was to get into the top5

Race:
I was surprised that [Fluid] M.Biaggi did not started as he was so close behind me in the standings.
So I tried to watch (and stay close to) ATC gAg instead as he is the next one behind me with overall points.

The start of the race was good and I was able to pass Hasse before T1 and then 3j bumped ATC gAg and I bumped him  but no big deal everyone survived.
I tried to go the same pace like them but couldn't reach the slipstream from anyone instead I had Mikael Larsen in my neck after 2 laps, especially in the long bend after the S/F line. I really had to defend my place there but then I saw him touching the gras (in lap4 I think) and leaving the track so I started to concentrate on the guys in front again.

Then in lap 6 I had gAg in front of me (after he almost spun) but I couldn't pass that clever guy and he escaped into the pits before I could slipstream him. Then I was hunted by Hasse and P1LOT and I made mistake after mistake. I was getting really tired during that time (don't ask me why). In lap 12 after some more mistakes P1LOT passed me and Hasse also. I thought come on concentrate man, what's up with you.  sleepy1

I went into the pits and tried to " director wake up"  to then do some better laps in the 2nd stint.

I was happy when I came out onto the track again right in front of ATC gAg but unfortunately I could only defend for half a lap and then he passed me. I tried to stay with him but whenever he made a small mistake I did the same, so I sometimes gained 0,3 seconds and lost 0,3s a bit later.

In lap 18 he almost spun when he touched the green in the turn before split2. Again I was not able to slipstream him, I think the gap was just 1 meter to big.

I was sure that I can get him if I would only stay concentrated and be a bit more agressive while braking. But I was wrong, I already had some minor damage on my car and in lap 21 I lost a bit control (turn before split2) went to the green and rammed into the wall.  BangHead
Shortly after that PM Hasse who was like 3 sec. behind got me and moved for the pass. I first thought to close the door in the 2nd last turn but then opened up and let him by, to slipstream him later  laughing7.

It worked but when I turned in after T1 I noticed that I had no FF when I turned my wheel to the left, that felt stanged and wrong and the same in the next laps. I wasn't able to steer correct to the left anymore.  icon_scratch

I tried a whole lap to catch up Hasse but in every left turn he got away from me. In lap 23 I realized that it makes no sense to risk some more places and tried to bring the car home.

Started 6th - finished 6th. Could have been a bit better but I made to many mistakes.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I also noticed something strange during the race.
My car got damage without touching something
Check Pic 1 and then Pic 2, the orange damage bar just came out of nowhere for me.

Is there a bump in that turn that caused that? I never noticed that before.
If anyone has an explanation let me know it.
I know when you pass curbs to hard you get that but just on the street.

Then after my crash I had massive damage (check Pic 3) and some time later it went down to minor (the orange bar Pic 4) but thinking of the steering the damage felt huge. Really strange

You didnt touch me at all. I could see you wanted to give me my position back and was thinkeing" Go,go,go" but I could not chat in the race.

I simply lost my concentration because I went off track, it took me a few laps to get back in a good rythme.
