Hello Racers!

As some of you might have noticed, there is a new sim comming on the market. And thats brings us to the very old question, asked since the first game was ever created and offered in shops: "Is it worth it?" Unfortunatly you won't find the answer here, but a ver fine report from Gavin (P1LOT), who had the chance to be part of the beta test of iRacing.
. . .

Wow what a nice report, thx Gavin.

I have a few questions.

What wheels are supported?
How easy is the setup?

What about the steering and clutch etc.
Is autoclutch available or button clutch if you don't have a third pedal?
Can you then assign any button for it?
Or can you assign buttons (like C or D) for shifting (I would need that on my MS FF wheel)?

I think nearly all should have no problem, assigning axis and buttons was straighforward

Once the software is downloaded you go through a wizard which asks all the important questions and tests your system, it then choses a graphics level which it thinks you should run at.

Autoclutch is available, as is throttle blip for downshifts. That's the only assistance there is.

I believe this feature was just recently added in the latest upgrade.
The latest upgrade also made the interior of the Solstice not so dark, the physics were also tweaked and other things I can't remember.

Great report Gavin  :icon_thumleft:

Still not convinced with the payment system and & don't think I race enough to warrant the cost.

Hi guys... Nice report Gav.. was waiting for a decent review of this sim, it does sound promising but i have to agree with Dean, not convinced at all how much its going to cost people, ok it might pull in good racers i guess, but also will keep other good racers away as the cost just keeps getting bigger..

Hi Mark,

yes your conclusion could be true, it is still expensive and only worth if you got and spend enough time with it. But let's see how it all went in the next couple of months.
At least something with new content (tracks)   :laughing7: That's the only thing I really miss in LFS atm.
