Gentlemen’s Cup Round 5
Written by BBO
Wednesday, 28 May 2008
gc2008Here is a little report about the fifth round of the Gentlemen’s Cup that was held last sunday.

20 laps in the XFG car at Kyoto National.

Two of our drivers (BBO on P1 and Three_Jump on P2) lead the Cup after the past 4 rounds and the rest of the T7R drivers followed on place 5, 6 and 13.

Could they repeat their performance and hold their positions or improve?

Let’s see how it went for Triple 7 Racing.

It looks like this track, which contains a big oval section, is an easy one but the infield with various left and right hander is really tricky. And the smallest mistake can cost you there easily half a second of your fastest lap time.

Good News, sad news and Big success
Written by BBO

2008-1-t7rThe last 3 months brought some really good and some sad news for our Team.

As already posted in the Team News section of our Forum, some of our long time members left the team because their real life doesn’t allow them to drive anymore or they found other interests etc.

First the sad news:

Next to Tristan (Tristancliffe), Jeff (Ball Bearing Turbo), Sören (Bismarck), Pieter (Noemfie) and Niki (Nikimere) who left the Team, we also had to say good bye to Basem.

Only Sören will still be around from time to time and work on some parts of our website in the background. So we didn’t lost him completely ;-)

Now the really good news

We also achieved some of the biggest successes in our history together as a Team.

In the 2007 / 2008 Masters of Endurance league we almost lost all our chances to finish on the podium when we only finished on a 5th place in the 24 hours of Aston. As the final points of this race were doubled it was a little catastrophe for us.

But we tried hard to get our overall 3rd place back...

Another success for T7R

After successfully driving the 2nd season of the Road Sport Summer Cup (where he finished on the 2nd place in the Drivers Championships last year) our T7R|P1lot (G. Burton) startet at the end of the last year with his RAC car in the new Road Sport Winter Cup.

The season startet in November 2007 and with all the unlucky things happend to him during the season (Black screen error, ran out of fuel because of weight ballast, etc.) the Triple 7 Racing Team is more then delighted about the great performance and results from P1lot, be it in the qualifying or in the races.
